"Hybrid"

I am researching masks as the main part of my thesis, not only in their physical but mental influence on human behavior. Playing a role does not take place only in theatre, it also happens in real life. Finally, we all have to play a specific role due to social obligations and conventions, which is not necessarily meant in a negative way. After all, we need the knowledge for social interaction, so we are able to improve our social skills. Since the early childhood masquerade is one of the most important stylistic devices in order to create an identity and preserve the image. We need to play and compete and put on our masks. Despite our own fears and weaknesses we want to deliver a possible "good" image and save our faces.

The set up of the video is deconstructed into three parts like in theatre: prologue, main part and epilogue. The sequences of different layers are planned ahead to the performance.

"Mirrored fractal"

The video shows a kaleidoscope made out of mirrors, which covers fractals. A fractal is an object that consists of several scaled-down copies of itself. In this performance, I’m questioning the individual perception of the constructed world.

"Assemlage"

This surreal collage shows an illusion that I created through multiple layers, as a performer in front and behind the camera. It consists of various elements that I take apart and put back together again. There is an interaction between the observer and the actor. This fact makes it slightly unclear whom I want to address, the audience as the observer, or myself as the artist who is caught in the trouble of illusioning visions. What is reality? Is it the face in the mirror the reconstructed face showing in high-class magazines?

"Fashion is of course an implement of expression for showing personality, but we should not forget that we are the ones who can choose thoughtfully and decide where we want to buy our cloths."

This video is to be understood as a critic or protest against fast fashion, this trend has real consequences to our planet. The fashion industry is the second-largest polluter on the planet after oil.

What if we replace fast fashion into slow fashion and consume differently?

I tried to create a trend of responsible consumerism. I also think that we all are able to make a dramatic difference in the impact of consumption on the planet and the people involved.

With this video I tried to change people’s awareness mainly about fashion.

The setting of the video shows the opposite of a typical catwalk scenario in the main fashion cities like Paris. The performance shows, one model laying on the floor, rolling form one outfit to the other. There is no catwalk, no Make-up Artist or Dresser, no Photographer, no Audience.

The white collection consists of four outfits; each outfit is for one season. The spring, summer, autumn and winter collections are very basic for a simple and easy lifestyle shift.

In my opinion we all should take the pledge to become a responsible consumer and educate ourselves on the true cost of fashion.
